Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives
He has recorded top-ten hits, he has platinum and gold albums and he has received four Grammy Awards. But one shouldn't judge his success in charts and awards alone. Marty has made lasting music as a front man and in collaboration with virtually every major roots music figure of his era, from Lester Flatt to Bob Dylan. We are extremely pleased to have him at our festival.
Adrienne Young
Adrienne Young lives in Nashville, TN but everything about her suggests another place and time.
A seventh generation Floridian, she was raised on the land farmed by her family generations earlier. She's a triple threat, singer, writer and multi-instrumentalist who's also started her own record label.
The music is stunning:tightly crafter songs that infuse her love for American tradition with high contemporary energy.

Songwriters in the Round
The hosts of the festival, Jimmy Fortune and Robin and Linda Williams, ask a special guest each year to be on the show.
Jimmy's guest this year is Billy Yates. Billy lives in Nashville and has written hit songs for folks such as George Strait, George Jones, Sara Evans, Kenny Chesney and many others.

Robin and Linda's guest is Cowboy" Jack Clement, the writer of "Someone I Used To Know" and "Ballad Of A Teenage Queen." He is truly a legend in the Country Music business and has had songs recorded by Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton and many others.

Michael Martin Murphey whose career spans over 30 years, is one of the most respected singer/songwriters in the Pop and Country Music fields with hit songs ("Wildfire," "Geronimo's Cadillac," "What's Forever For"), millions of records sold and many awards. However, he's now known more for his dedication to and performances of American Cowboy Music. He's a wonderful singer and performer and we're fortunate to have him at our festival.
NEWLY ADDED! ____Mary Chapin Carpenter
Mary Chapin Carpenter has earned five Grammy Awards and sold 13 million records in the first 20 years of her career, with country chart staples as "I Feel Lucky," "Shut Up and Kiss Me" and "Down at the Twist and Shout." (When "He Thinks He'll Keep Her" was nominated in 1995 for Record of the Year, it was the second time in Grammy history that a nomination in this category had gone to a country artist.)
Carpenter confidently crosses boundaries of genre, incorporating elements of folk and rock as well as country into the mix. The Central Virginia-based singer, songwriter returned to Nashville last year to record The Calling.
Bill Wellington Parents' Choice Magazine once said: "Children couldn't ask for a better storyteller than Bill Wellington." Bill is not only a great storyteller, he is also an accomplished musician, an award-winning recording artist, and one of the funniest family entertainers around. He has performed everywhere from one-room schoolhouses to the National Theatre, sharing his love of folk music, folktales, and folk dance.
