Fortune Williams Music Festival

Friday, as on the first day of each year's Fortune Williams Music Festival, the headliners put on an impromptu concert for patients, staff and visitors of Augusta Health. In the atrium of the hospital, Robin and Linda Williams and Jimmy Fortune, along with songwriter guests, play guitars and sing a dozen or so songs for the crowd. It is a tradition that began several years ago when the Williamses and Fortune wanted to do something for people who couldn't make it out to the show at the Frontier Culture Museum. It's turned into an annual event. The staff welcomes a way to cheer up patients and help them forget for a while why they're there.
Augusta Health opened in 1994 to continue a tradition of personalized care with small-town hospitality that began more than 50 years ago with predecessor hospitals in Staunton and Waynesboro, Virginia.
Today, highly trained physicians and staff use state-of-the-art technology to provide superlative care with warmth and compassion.
